STICKY - Dive into the honey jar with JONAS WINGE LEISNER

For more than two decades JONAS WINGE LEISNER has been one of the most important voices of danish soul and r&b, in various constellations and as a solo artist. He has been touring extensively, received massive airplay, has more than 35.000 monthly listeners on Spotify, and a single with over three million streams. From features on succesful movie-soundtracks, to sold-out shows year after year with legendary funk-collective RIDIN’ THUMB - alongside many other side- hustles.

But up until now JONAS has not yet put out a full project in his own name. This changes with the release of the EP STICKY, which is a clear validation for those who regard him as one of the very best soul singers in Scandinavia.

For lovers of the genre, this is everything you could wish for: From classic and sometimes psychedelic 70’s soul, to more up-to-date neo-soul and alternative r&b. Real instruments, organic and homegrown production by swedish multi-instrumentalist and super-producer DANIEL FRIDELL, who outdoes himself on this EP with musical excellence and arrangements, that would most likely make D’Angelo or Curtis Mayfield envious. The two other collaborators on the release are British BOBBY BOVELL and Danish JONAS RENDBO, who are also both artists and songwriters in the soul music category. And it is no coincidence, that JONAS has chosen these 3 people to help shape his musical vision. For more than 10 years all four have been members of the Copenhagen live phenomenon and music collective THE 5TO8’S, renowned for its highest quality, sweaty, packed, marathon concerts of improvised soul, hip hop, funk and r&b. With great mutual respect these guys have formed an unbreakable musical bond, and an unmistakable sound, which now has its official debut with the release of JONAS WINGE LEISNER’s STICKY.

The title-song STICKY is the first single of the EP. It’s a true funk-fest that will make you want to move. It convincingly showcases the soulful sound and wide range of JONAS’ voice, and will leave you hungry for more. It will make you want to dive head first into the honey jar.
